About Blake:

Blake Duea is an up-and-coming guitarist and writer in the greater Boston music scene. Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Blake incorporates a wide variety of influences both in his playing and his compositions. His musical journey began at the age of ten playing the trumpet in his school’s music program before later picking up the guitar. Growing up near Prince’s Paisley Park, Blake has a deep connection to the music of Minneapolis and its funk tradition.

Blake has a number of session credits under his belt for artists such as Skye, Delphia!, Reese Nobile, and Kaylen Shae. While primarily a guitarist, Blake is also fluent in playing bass, ukulele, and trumpet. Additionally, Blake has had the honor of studying under award-winning musicians such as Nir Felder and Mimi Jones.

Blake is currently working on recording and releasing a six song EP of his original music, which aims to release in the Spring of 2026.

While initially starting as a hobby, Blake’s love for the guitar grew over the years as he began to play in larger jazz and rock ensembles. In high school, one of Blake’s mentors took note of his passion and suggested that he consider music as a possible career option and encouraged him to study at Berklee College of Music. From this, Blake learned how to work as a true sideman to help musicians fulfill their unique vision, while also learning how to express his own voice through his writing. Blake now works as an independent musician, playing both live and session settings, and provides a distinct flavor and vision to the music he works on.
